Christopher G. Stevens, MD
Dr. Stevens is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in the comprehensive care of the entire upper extremity. He has completed an orthopaedic surgery residency as well as two separate subspecialty training programs (fellowships) in both sports medicine and hand/upper extremity surgery. This gives Dr. Stevens a background for utilizing the latest minimally invasive and arthroscopic techniques which expedites patient’s recovery and minimizes their pain.
Dr. Stevens is unique in that he has gone through the rigorous process of being certified by the subspecialty boards of sports medicine and hand surgery, along with the standard board certification in orthopaedic surgery. In addition, at present he is the only surgeon in Tucson and only one of a handful of orthopaedic surgeons in Arizona to be elected to the American Shoulder & Elbow Society, a prestigious subspecialty society with a focus on complex upper extremity surgery and research.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Stevens has also published several articles in major orthopaedic journals about new surgical techniques, functional outcomes of shoulder replacements, as well as reviews of the optimal treatment methods for upper extremity fractures.
