Dr. Petrow is board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with fellowship training in Joint Replacement at the Medical College of Virginia. He utilizes a variety of technological advances in the care of his patients including direct anterior hip arthroplasty, MAKO® robotic arm surgery for hip and knee surgery, and opioid sparing surgery. Dr. Petrow has been offering minimally invasive, anterior hip replacement since 2008. He is also the first surgeon in all of Southern Arizona to combine anterior hip replacement with the use of MAKO® robotic arm. He developed one of the first outpatient joint replacement programs at a free standing surgical center in 2017 and continues to offer outpatient joint replacement using the MAKO® robotic arm. Dr. Petrow has performed over 3,000 (and counting) MAKO® robotic arm surgeries from 2017-2025. This ranks Dr. Petrow as the most experienced MAKO® robotic joint replacement surgeon in all of Southern Arizona, as well as a leader in outpatient join replacement surgery. He has been recognized by Castle Connolly as a Top Doctor in Tucson 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
