What is a PA?
A PA is a healthcare provider that is nationally certified to practice medicine. They are trained in the medical model, very similar to physicians, at the Masters level. As such, PAs can diagnose illness, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and perform procedures. PAs also work in the operating room as surgical first assist.
